Las Vegas, Nevada – SCRAM Technologies, Inc. (www.scramtech.com), an advanced optical technologies and systems engineering company, with their partner, MDS Technology, (www.mdstec.com) the Korean leader in embedded electronics and software, showed several mobile device personal projectors at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. Demonstrating production ready projectors ranging in size from 2 cc to 300 cc in volume, SCRAM was able to promote the theme of “portability and shareability” of video using projectors that are the “right physical size for the right application, at the right power requirement to achieve the brightest and best quality image.”
Categorized by Pacific Media Associates as “new era” projectors, these devices use LED as well as laser illumination systems that are especially well suited for the portable market because of the energy saving high lumens per watt SCRAM has successfully engineered. SCRAM and MDS expect the initial product offerings to be accessories for cell phones, PDAs, laptop computers, cameras and portable DVDs.
Mr. Ray Kwong, Pres/CEO of SCRAM stated, “SCRAM and MDS are keenly aware that in Asia and Europe, people depend heavily upon sending and receiving information and entertainment via their mobile devices. In the U.S., although the infrastructure for some wireless services may not be ready for ubiquity (i.e. real time TV programming), we are very social and seek to share experiences. Viewing information, whether alone or in small groups, can be greatly enhanced with images larger than what is available in existing mobile devices.”
Showing images from 7 inches to 36 inches in diagonal, both mini/pocket and embeddable projectors with LED illumination systems as well as a laser illuminated pico projector were demonstrated in a private suite. These projectors outperformed similar competing projectors in both efficiency and image quality. The companies are actively marketing these products for manufacture and sale.

SCRAMscreen® technology is a patented screen design that absorbs surrounding light and allows the viewer to see a high-definition image in bright light conditions. FUJIFILM will use its manufacturing and technical expertise in the Greenwood facility to develop and produce the customized screens for this advanced display technology. This project is one of many that use the imaging, thin film coating and manufacturing expertise of Fujifilm to broaden the product and technology portfolio at the facility and to help build additional economic and business opportunities in Greenwood.
